2025 COMMUNITY BENEFIT FOUNDATION RECIPIENTS

An overall total of $638,000 funds donated in 2025!

At Greenbank Services Club, we’re proud to play an active role in supporting our community. Through initiatives such as the Community Benefit Foundation, Together We Rise Fund, School Bursary, The Green Project with Mick Hancock, and our Community Raffle Program, we’re committed to providing timely and meaningful support.

These programs extend from grassroots assistance to vital aid in times of major crisis. The funding generated through these initiatives helps strengthen local charities, schools, sporting clubs, and community groups. By offering this support, we aim to foster well-being, inclusivity, and vibrancy—making our local area an even better place to live, work, and enjoy.

Strong Clubs Build Better Communities: Community Clubs play a vital role in supporting local sports, charities and social connections across Queensland. 

We were honoured to host our annual Community Grants Presentation Day welcoming many local not-for-profit organisations and providing grants to support the important work they deliver throughout our community. 

We are excited to aim for our next milestone of $1 million in contributions next year. Together, we are helping to build a stronger, more connected communities.

This year a total of $197,284 in direct grants were distributed to 29 charity and community groups.

FOUNDATION CHARITY
$5,000 - Proceeds used to purchase school backpacks and lunchpacks for disadvantaged children, which will directly supporting 600 children in Logan.
LIONS CLUB
OF LOGAN VILLAGE
$2,244 - Proceeds used to purchase a Bain Marie to sell BBQ items to raise much needed funds for their organisation. 
LOGAN WEST COMMUNITY
ARTSHARE ALLIANCE
$5,000 - Proceeds used to Fund "Come N Try" workshops over 4 months for seniors and special needs disability groups.

THE SEBASTIAN FOUNDATION

$13,500 - Proceeds used to support Open Parachute Program to Park Ridge High School students.

CRESTMEAD STATE SCHOOL

$10,000 - Proceeds used to support school inclusion initiatives .

ROTARY CLUB WILDLIFE RESCUE

$3,308 - Proceeds used to purchase an animal enclosure for smaller mammals, 3 months powdered milk supplies for orphaned baby mammals and transport cage for Koalas.

REGENTS PARK ST VINCENT DE PAUL

$5,000 - Proceeds used to purchase care pack and fleece blankets for those affected by domestic violence.

FORESTDALE NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH

$1,000 - Proceeds to be used to support the annual Christmas Community Park Event.

MND & ME FOUNDATION

$9,989 - Proceeds to be used to purchase two lightweight folding powerchairs/wheelchairs.

CANEFIELDS CLUBHOUSE BEENLEIGH

$9,706 - Proceeds used to install commercial grade, non-slip flooring to Canefields Clubhouse Inc.

YARRABILBA SPORTS ASSOCIATION

$5,000 - Proceeds used to purchase a weather station for water reduction of the newly completed McKinnon Sports Park North precinct.

BROWNS PLAINS BLUE LIGHT 

$10,000 - Proceeds used to supply a shipping container for storage and room hire for monthly Blue Light Discos.

LOGAN CONNECT

$4,175 - Proceeds used to support essential community services equipment and job safety software.

YOUTH OF TOMORROW

$1,000 - Proceeds used to support Boronia State School in attending the Future Fit Program.

NATIONAL SENIORS

$2,500 - Proceeds used to support transport costs for National Seniors events and functions.

DAISY HILL STATE SCHOOL P&C

$5,000 - Proceeds used to subsidise school excursions and camp programs.

LOGAN AREA COMMITEE ON THE AGEING

$2,500 - Proceeds used to support the 2025 Logan Seniors Day.

QUOTA JIMBOOMBA

$10,000 - Proceeds used to provide equipment for hearing impaired children.

LOGAN YOUTH CO-RESPONDER TEAM

$32,035 - Proceeds used to purchase a custom BBQ trailer for youth community engagement programs  for QPS, PCYC and others.

LIGHTHOUSE CARE

$10,000 - Proceeds used to purchase a walker reach stacker for food warehouse.

AUTISM QLD

$7,300 - Proceeds used to purchase an outdoor preparation block, pizza oven, fridge, BBQ and other accessories at Birdsville House for independent living.

PARK RIDGE PONY CLUB

$2,500 - Proceeds used to provide branded show jumping fillers for training and events.

QLD PCYC

$10,000 - Proceeds used to provide a new fit for purpose youth space.

BROWNS PLAINS LITTLE ATHLETICS 

$2,000 - Proceeds used to provide resources to fundraise for  uniforms, equipment, maintenance, facility hire, and registration fees for families experiencing financial hardship.

QLD WIND ORCHESTRA

$9,922 - Proceeds used to cover costs for the purchase of new instruments.

HEADSPACE MEADOWBROOK

$3,605 - Proceeds used to create a safe outdoor space and yarning circle for mental health at Headspace Meadowbrook.

IMPACT CARE SERVICES

$5,000 - Proceeds used to supply and install a washer and dryer and renovated laundry space.

LOGAN COMMUNITY EVENTS

$5,000 - Proceeds used as Sponsorship of Logan Community Events 2025

IMPACT CHURCH

$5,000 - Proceeds used to acquire equipment and resources for a multi group sensory program.

2025 SCHOOL BURSARY PROGRAM 
The School Bursary Program was implemented by the club to invest in the future of our younger generation. The program aims to encourage, reward and support local students in excellence, academic performance, cultural engagement, strength and resilience.
SPACE
All nominated nominated students were interviewed by a panel of GSC representatives. These students were then be awarded a $1,000 Bursary at the Community Benefits Presentation in 2025. Three runners up were selected to each receive an additional $2,000 and one overall winner being awarded $5,000 in additional bursary funds.

BONNIE EDWARDS: $5,000 BURSARY WINNER!

Year 9 student from Marsden SHS. Nominated for Strength & Resilience.

Bonnie is the top achiever out a large cohort of 730 advanced placement students. She is part of the debating team, enjoys reading and researching in her free time and is saving to participate in the school's NASA program to pursue her dream job of becoming a professor in Astro Physics.

ANNABEL BUDIONO: $2,000 CTA ENCOURAGEMENT AWARD

 Year 8 student from Marsden SHS. Nominated for Academic Excellence.

Annabel is in an accelerated program, plays violin and is part of the debating team while also volunteering at her local church. Annabelle has aspirations of becoming a doctor.

 

CAITLYN STRASZINSKI: $2,000 RUNNER UP!


Year 12 student from Park Ridge SHS. Nominated for Strength & Resilience.

Caitlyn completed a school based traineeship for nursing through Logan Hospital as an independent student living out of home. She has supported herself through school and life by working a second job while also playing in a school Netball team. Caitlyn also plays viola, flute and guitar in her spare time.

SANDIEE-LEIGH BROWN: $2,000 RUNNER UP!


Year 12 student from Park Ridge SHS. Nominated for Strength & Resilience.

Sandiee-Leigh's story of commitment to her studies and future success despite being in foster care for most of her life is inspiring. She has completed her placement hours at a local Aged Care facility over her school holidays to ensure she met her graduation and continues to be great role model for her foster siblings and peers alike. 

ANABELLE BUDIONO: $1K BURSARY

Year 8 student from Marsden SHS. Nominated for Academic Excellence.

Annabel is in an accelerated program, plays violin and is part of the debating team while also volunteering at her local church. Annabelle has aspirations of becoming a doctor.

ANGELINA LY: $1K BURSARY

Year 12 Student from Park Ridge SHS. Nominated for Academic Excellence.   

Angelina exemplifies the schools values and culture. Angelina works a part time job to help achieve her financial goals required to complete a dual degree in the future.

BILL PHAM: $1K BURSARY

Year 12 student from Marsden SHS. Nominated for the Academic Excellence.

Bill is awarded for his talent and dedication as a performer. He works part time to assist the family business in between study and gym. He hopes to pursue study at QUT for a degree in Pyschology and Business.

Year 9 student from Marsden SHS. Nominated for Strength & Resilience.

COLIN-JEVON DAY: $1K BURSARY

Year 10 student from Marsden SHS. Nominated for Academic Excellence.

CJ is a high achieving student undertaking subjects including physics, specialist and mathematical methods. He has completed the Kokoda Challenge twice and is part of an esports team. He enjoys music and robotics.

CRYSTAL VONSTEIN: $1K BURSARY

Year 11 student from Park Ridge SHS. Nominated for Strength & Resilience.

Crystal joined the health hub and has applied for a school based traineeship at Robina Hospital where she hopes to continue her interest in medical imaging. Nominated for this award due to her ability to overcome tragedy and challenges in her personal life while working towards improving her grades. 

ELAINE KANG: $1K BURSARY

Year 10 student from Marsden SHS. Nominated for Strength & Resilience.

Elaine has achieved straight A's in all her subjects over the past four years despite English being her second language.

ELISABETH FARAMAIMO: $1K BURSARY

Year 12 student from Marsden SHS. Nominated for Strength & Resilience.

Elisabeth is a top achieving student who recently relocated from Thailand to pursue her career in medicine. 

ELLA HYNES: $1K BURSARY

Year 12 student from Park Ridge SHS. Nominated for Strength & Resilience.

Ella joined the Health Hub and completed both her certificate II and III in aged care and individual support working towards her goal of studying paramedicine at Uni. She enjoys working as a stable hand part time and assisting her family business on their farm. 

EMILY MATHEWSON: $1K BURSARY

Year 11 student from Park Ridge SHS. Nominated for Academic Excellence.

Emily is a member of 5 bands, holds a leadership position for music and is an exceptional role model for academic excellence.  

JAZZLYN NANDAN: $1K BURSARY

Year 11 student from Marsden SHS. Nominated for Strength & Resilience.

Jazzlyn is awarded for her perfect academic results despite English being her second language. She enjoys creative writing and challenging herself also participating in the QUT Head start program. 

KAPENGA NGARONGA: $1K BURSARY

Year 11 student from Marsden SHS. Nominated for Academic Excellence.

Kapaenga prides himself on his 5.0 GPA and an excellence in Chinese award whilst also studying Korean. He hopes to pursue a career in teaching English to students abroad. 

KYE-JANA STOCKMAN: $1K BURSARY

Year 11 student from Park Ridge SHS. Nominated for Strength & Resilience.

Kye-Jana is a member of the volleyball team and has committed herself to her school studies. She has been nominated for the Strength & Resilience award after demonstrating her ability to bounce back from personal trauma and make her family and teachers proud.

NATALIE NEAVE: $1K BURSARY

Year 11 student from Park Ridge SHS. Nominated for Academic Excellence.

Natalie is a history, philosophy and psychology high achiever at her school. She enjoys writing and hopes to pursue her interests in legal studies after school.
