2022 Community Benefit Foundation Recipients

Greenbank Services Club is a not for profit Community Club, every cent goes back into your local community. On Friday 21st April 2023, we were proud to present the following groups and organisations in excess of $80,000!

Andrew, Rick and Karen from Southern Stars Baseball Inc accepted a $5,000 cheque presented by CFO Renee. With the funds to provide more seating to spectators, replace the older ones with new back support seating on either side of the scorers hut. To ensure improvement in the facility.

Logan Village Falcons All Sports are planning to purchase two new full-size portable goals for the main playing field, to replace aging and damaged goals. Amanda and Terri-Anne accepted a donation of $5,000 presented by Food & Beverage Manager, Joel. 
Lynn and Dave from the Forestdale Neighbourhood Watch a recieved $2,500 donation, presented by Senior Manager, Stephen to go towards the delivery of key services including distribution of the community newsletter, run community events and provide an opportunity to support other local groups, charities and businesses.

Cheryl, Steven, Rob and Margaret from Logan West Community Artshare Alliance accepted a cheque worth $3,400 from Gaming Manager, Heidi. The funds will go towards the purchase of four strong arm centering tools for their studio, these assist the older participants who have difficulties with activities that require arm or shoulder strength.

A donation worth $540 present by Board Chairman, Howard to Adam from Browns Plains Blue Light Disco. The funds assist with creation of 36 Christmas Hampers to be delivered to the local community. The Christmas Hampers are delivered to families who have endured hardship throughout the year.

Regents Park Parish's community hub is due for a refurbishement. Colleen, Greg, Anne and Dudley accepted a donation of $8,948 presented by GSC Board Treasurer, Jeff to go towards this.  Refurbishment of community hub which will offer a shared place where groups can feel at home in a secure, comfortable and practical environment. 
Renee, Harinder and Deborah accepted a cheque worth $6,180 presented by Board Member, Paul Kelly to purchase of 60 Silva Expedition 4 Military compasses which can be used by the youth members during their weekends in the bush. 
Kicking It At Kingston are using their funs for the purchase of items for the greater ability to hold a diverse range of events to increase community participation and inclusion which encourages healthier and harmonious communities. Angela, Georgia, Jo and Donna recieved a $2,498 donation presented by Board Member, Stephen.

Tammy, Kaleb, Athol and Jaylee from Formally Ever After accepted a donation of $2,500 presented by CFO Renee. Formally Ever After was established to support families, school groups or individuals who have little money to obtain formal items. Funds will go towards storage, electricity, purchase of formal wear and dress shoes where needed.

A cheque worth $5,000 was presented to Greg, James, Andrew, John and Shannan. The funds will provide personal and financial assistance to children with serious medical conditions and their immediate family and to provide personal and financial assistance to organisations that support children’s health and wellbeing. 

Purchase of gym equipment; to update older donated gym equipment that has been deemed unsafe for a Battalion Gym at their Headquarters Barracks at Greenbank. 25/49 Royal Queensland Regiment accepted a donation of $10,000. LTCOL David Fraser - CO, WO1 Michael Young - RSM, MAJ Rob Drew - 2IC, CAPT Jesse Cannard - ADJT & CPL Matthew Williams OPS CPL joined us at the presentation. Cheque was presented by Senior Manager, Stephen.

Karen and Jamie from KDK Kids First Inc accepted a $1,000 cheque presented by Gaming Manager, Heidi. The funds will go towards the purchase of 100 safety vests for children to undertake excursions, vest assist educators and group leaders to safely manage children during the excursions.

Kelvin, Joan, Christian, Brenda and Deborah from Kingstones Music Pty Ltd. accepted a $7,000 donation, presented by Board Chairman, Howard to update their sound and lighting equipment for bigger and better events this year and beyond! The Kingstones perform on the last Wednesday of each month at Greenbank Services Club from 10am. 
Belinda, Renee, Nathaniel, Jeremy, Elizabeth and Megan joined us and recieved a donation of $7, 676 presented by Board Treasurer, Jeff. The Greenbank Scout Group intend to upgrade onsite amenities for members and reduce current hire costs. Portable facilities for use at events such as parks, campsites and remote locations. Income assistance through hire to other community groups and organisations.

Helen accepted a $5,000 donation, presented by Board Member Paul Kelly, to provide a music therapy program to all families impacted by childhood cancer. These programs provide mental health support for families residing on Brisbane's south side.

$5,000 was donated to purchase of on-field uniforms for under 13's girls team and under 15's girls teams as well as support for the female coaches for these teams. Chris joined us to accept the cheque presented by Board Member Stephen.

Lions Club of Logan West Inc were unable to attend the presentation, however, did receive $3,020 for the purchase of Christmas Cakes to assist them to further support their chosen organisations and groups.
